ST. PETE BEACH, Fla. — Multiple rooms were evacuated early Tuesday at the Tradewinds Resort after an air conditioner duct fire.

There were some flames and smoke at the resort, located in the 5500 block of Gulf Boulevard.

Guests said they woke up around 2:30 a.m. to the sound of fire alarms.

Fire departments from St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island and St. Petersburg responded to the fire, evacuating the 5th and 6th floors. Fire crews were able to quickly bring the fire under control and there were three minor injuries.

All floors of the entire north half of the building were also evacuated. 

The fire remains under investigation.
