TAMPA, Fla. — The voter registration deadline for the Florida Primary Elections is Monday, July 25, and Supervisors of Elections across the state are encouraging voters to make a plan early for when, where, and how they will register.
According to the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections office, the fastest way to register to vote in the state of Florida is though the state Supervisor of Elections office's website. Residents can still opt to register via paper application through either a PDF found on the site or in-person at any local Supervisor of Elections office.
Those who wish to register to vote must:
- Be a citizen of the United States of America
- Be a legal resident of Florida
- Be a legal resident of the county in which they seek to be registered
- Be at least 16 years old to preregister or at least 18 years old to register and vote
Those who have been adjudicated mentally incapacitated and/or those who are convicted felons and have not had their voting rights restored are not eligible to register to vote in Florida.
This year, Florida's Primary Elections are August 23 and the Florida General Election is November 8.
