Federal officials will give the additional 1.8 million doses of the vaccine to state and local health departments with the greatest need - ones that have used 90% of their available supply.

In total, there have 82 confirmed cases of monkeypox in Hillsborough County, and 61 cases in Pinellas County.
Polk, Pasco and Citrus counties have reported a combined 13 cases.
Locally, the monkeypox vaccine is only available to people who are considered high risk for contracting the virus, and people who have been exposed to it.
The Department of Health says once more doses become available, they will be distributed more broadly.
