Viki Knapp joined Spectrum Bay News 9 as a meteorologist in August 2022.

Viki studied tropical meteorology at the University of Miami, earning a Master's degree in atmospheric science. Viki returned to her Midwestern roots to begin her career, facing some of the coldest and snowiest winters on record at WREX-TV, the NBC affiliate in Rockford, Illinois.

She then joined WeatherNation for a new challenge forecasting for the entire United States and Caribbean. From hurricanes to blizzards to tornadoes and severe weather, she covered it all, sometimes all in the same day.

Viki was eager to return to Florida and now resides in the Tampa Bay area. In addition to her work with Bay News 9, Viki works in investor relations for a local company. When she’s not working, she likes to spend as much time on the water as she can.
