TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Police announced the arrest of a 16-year-old boy investigators say shot and seriously wounded a 17-year-old girl last Friday.
The shooting happened at the Arbor Flat Apartments on South Manhattan Avenue. Bay News 9 is not naming the 16-year-old that police say admitted to the shooting based on our crime guidelines.

Police say the 16-year-old was jumped last week after he used a counterfeit $100 bill to buy drugs.
In retaliation, police say another fight was planned at the apartment complex last Friday between a relative of the shooter and a 17-year-old girl.
Police said after the fight ended on Friday, the 16-year-old wearing a ski mask fired a single shot that hit the 17-year-old girl as she walked away.
She was rushed to a local hospital and survived the shooting.
Tampa Police say once they identified the 16-year-old shooter, a search of his home revealed the handgun used in the shooting.
The teen now faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, second degree attempted murder with a firearm and aggravated battery involving serious bodily injury.
