Preparations for the mid-term elections have been underway for months, with the training of thousands of poll workers to handle mail-in voting, early voting and staffing polling locations on Election Day.
In Hillsborough County, 600 poll workers will handle early voting sites. More than 2,000 poll workers in Hillsborough will work Election Day polling locations.
Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer said workers were setting up early vote sites.
“We prepare months and months in advance,” Latimer said. “We are looking at our inventory, logistics. You know, we get to Election Day, 246 polling sites around the county. Just the logistics of getting all of that equipment prepared and to the right site is a challenge. But we have a great staff here, great team."
Mail-in voting has been ongoing since earlier this month statewide, and will continue through Election Day.
