CLEARWATER, FLA – Sharon Grabowski has a passion for teaching math. She’s been working at Enterprise High School in Clearwater for 13 years. One of her fellow teachers nominated her to be our A+ Teacher this week.

“She’s swamped every single day and her room is full every single day. And I think that speaks volumes for how much she cares for the students. She’s really like a mom to a lot of them,” said Aaron Jones, who is the technology coordinator at the school.

Enterprise High School is focused on helping kids who are at risk of dropping out of school. Grabowski and the other educators at the school help the students finish their classes so they can graduate.

When you spend time in Grabowski’s classroom, you’ll immediately see that she sits down next to the students to help them through the math problems.

“I think it helps and builds their confidence because sometimes they sit here and they just don’t even know where to start,” said Grabowski. She went on to say, “We try to build up their confidence because a lot of times they come in [and say], “I don’t like math. I hate math.'”

Her goal is to help students overcome challenges and do well on their tests so they can graduate.

“I just enjoy when the kids actually pass their tests,” said Grabowski. She went on to say, “It feels good that you’re making a difference in their lives and you hope that they want to continue on, whatever career they want to do, you want to kind of help build that foundation to make sure that they can do that.”

Grabowski leads the math department at Enterprise High School and says they are constantly looking at ways to help students improve their test scores.
