TAMPA, Fla. — Today is the last day to register to vote for the upcoming Tampa municipal election on March 7.

“The easiest way is to go online: go to my website, go to votehillsborough.gov.,” said Hillsborough Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer. “Look for that registration button, click on it and it’s open 24 hours a day, so get online and do it.”

What You Need To Know

  • Monday is the deadline to register to vote in Tampa municipal election March 7

  • Hillsborough County is quickly approaching one million registered voters

  • Easiest way is for residents to go online to votehillsborough.gov

Plant City’s municipal election is on April 4. Residents have until March 6 to register to vote.

For anyone who would like to vote-by-mail, the Local Supervisor of Elections is warning voters that their vote-by-mail status also expired after last year’s mid-term election.

“The legislature changed the vote by mail request procedure,” Latimer said. “And at the end of the November ‘22 election, everybody that had a request on file expired.

“So you have to request it again, and it’s only good through one election cycle. If you are a City of Tampa voter, you can request that vote-by-mail ballot right now, and that request will be good through the 2024 general elections.”

Hillsborough County has nearly one million registered voters after an explosive growth in population over the past two years.
