Despite the event lasting only a few minutes, the preparation and anticipation create a sense of community and togetherness among the onlookers.

Karina Davila, a 27-year-old from downtown Orlando, recently rented a colorful van for two days just to watch the launch along the space coast.

She set up her spot near Cape Canaveral and made sure her mother, sister, and pets would experience the launch in style.

"I've never done this before. This is my first time camping for a rocket launch. And I'm very excited for it," Davila said. "I think it's so cool that there's something that brings people from all over together. And just the fact that it's a rocket, it's space. It's just so much bigger than anything we're used to seeing every day."

For many, setting up and camping overnight for a launch is half the fun. Aurele Carrier and his wife drove all the way from Toronto, Canada, to experience the launch.

They have set up night vision cameras outside their RV to capture the entire event.

"We have all the night vision camera set up so we can film all this stuff," said Carrier.

The couple plans to drive back to Canada after the launch.

Rocket watchers know that the event is special, especially since this time, a 4-person crew is going up in SpaceX and traveling to the space station.

While many position for a great location to watch a rocket launch, the truth is that nearly all the viewing spots near the space coast provide an unforgettable experience.
