What You Need To Know

Taylen’s family describes him as a sweet and happy toddler who loved his mom.

A note written on their GoFundMe page says that during the day when his mother was at work, Taylen would grab his caretaker's phone and pretend to call his mom. He loved to smile and spend time with his tight-knit family.

Jeffery was a St. Pete native who attended Benito Middle School, Boca Ciega High School and Northeast High School.

She worked at a CVS on 4th St. N. and her family says she was determined to provide a better life for her son. On her work breaks she would FaceTime Taylen so the two could spend the most time together possible. Taylen was her pride and joy and she just loved being a mom, her family said.

Their lives were cut short, likely on March 29, following a 21st birthday party for Taylen’s father Thomas Mosley.

Police say Jeffrey threw Thomas Mosley a birthday party that Wednesday at the Lincoln Shores apartment she had moved into only weeks before. That’s the last time anyone saw the mother and son alive.

Investigators believe Mosley stabbed 20-year-old Jeffery to death and then took Taylen miles away to Lake Maggiore. Taylen’s body was found by the water two days later in the mouth of an alligator.

Mosley is facing two charges of first-degree murder and is being held without bond.
