AUBURNDALE, Fla. — Auburndale police have been thoroughly searching an area in town that may have some connection to a woman who's been missing since the beginning of June.

The nonprofit We Are The Essentials says it received information that Tonya Whipp was last seen at the trailer police are searching on June 6.

Amanda Reece has been a part of the efforts to help police and the Whipp family track down and find Tonya Whipp.

That’s the question family members and We Are The Essentials hope will be answered with a search warrant at a trailer off Indiana Court in Auburndale.

Reece found out last night that police started searching this property. So far, she and everyone else that isn’t law enforcement is not sure if anything has been discovered.

Through We Are The Essentials, Bay News 9 learned that the organization found out Tonya was last seen at the trailer on June 6, about a week after missing signs said she was last seen.

They passed along all the information they gathered to police, who have now had the street blocked off all day Thursday.

Meanwhile, Whipp’s sister, Donna, said earlier this week this week that she’s trying all that she can to keep a positive and hopeful attitude through this search and hopes her sister will be found soon.
