Polk County Fire Rescue is celebrating 50 years of service to the community.

Services there started in 1973, and they say they have grown by leaps and bounds over the decades in many areas like diversity and technology.

Photojournalist Kalvin McClure spent the day with the chief and deputy chief at Polk's newest fire station, No. 24 Winston Creek.
