TAMPA, Fla. — Downtown Tampa’s DASH (Downtown Area Shared Hubs) low-cost ride service launches on Thursday.


What You Need To Know

  • DASH (Downtown Area Shared Hubs) will launch in downtown Tampa with limited hours of noon to 11 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12

  • Riders will use an app to schedule a trip between around 20 hub locations throughout downtown, priced at $2 per person

  • The service plans to shift to its full-time hours: Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m

Through the partnership between downtown Tampa and DASH, users will be able to schedule rides through the smartphone app.

They will have the choice between about 20 hub locations in downtown priced at $2 per person.

The app pairs up to four passengers to share each hub-to-hub trip.

DASH’s vehicles are yellow and black Tesla Model Y SUVs which offer a zero-emission way to travel.

During the initial service roll out, DASH will have limited hours of noon to 11 p.m. on Thursday until moving into its full-time hours: Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.

DASH is also hiring additional driver-ambassadors.

These professionals will receive safety and driving training along with training as a guide to downtown’s seven unique neighborhoods.
