“Life on a farm, there’s lots of chores to do all the time,” Beasley said while feeding goats hay.
Her current favorite farm animal — Bella the cow — loves bell peppers and anything else you got.
Beasley and her family invite the community to come out to Beasley Farms in Brooksville year-round.
There’s a weekly produce barn, a monthly farmer’s market, and a fall festival on October weekends.
They fill a field with pumpkins and a kiddy sand box spilling over with dried corn kernels.
“It’s two acres. This is our second year having it,” Beasley said. “There’s dead ends, different ways to go in, different directions.”
The farmer’s daughter has taken the land in a different direction from her dad — opening the farm to the public with the help and support of her family including her daughters.
“Oh my gosh when they were babies, they had their own pea picking hats.” said Beasley. “I put little hats on them, and they would pick beans and peas. They’ve been with me through the 30 years.”
And in their fourth farm family generation?
That pea picking continues.
All a testament to Beasley’s father, Joseph LeDuc.
“My dad’s always looking out for me, and I think he’s very proud of what I’ve done here,” said Beasley. “And he’d want me to carry it forward. And hopefully my daughters and my granddaughter will take over after I’m gone.”
