TAMPA, Fla. — You might remember the vividly-colored Fruit Stripe Gum, but it won’t be around for much longer, according to the gum’s manufacturer.

Fruit Stripe Gum has been on store shelves for more than 50 years. 

The Ferrara Candy Company said it is not taking the decision lightly, but looked at consumer preferences and overall brand trends to make the call.

The company did say that fans of the product may still be able to find it at certain stores where it remains in stock.
