PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.— Lots of changes are in play for the Tampa Bay Rays as the full roster starts practice in Port Charlotte.

As a highly competitive spring season approaches, the Rays are looking to evaluate good players in bullpen roles, according to Rays Manager Kevin Cash.

What You Need To Know

Outfielder Jonny DeLuca and pitcher Ryan Pepiot are among many new faces in Rays camp. Both are eager and know what it means to have the opportunity to play for a club like the Rays.

“Obviously some big shoes to fill, I'm going to try my best but to have that go thru and me and Johnny for those two guys Margot and Glass and to know how well liked they were and for them to have the trust in us it's pretty special,” Pepiot said.

Meanwhile Taj Bradley, a second year starter, said he’s comfortable in his space right now and feels no pressure on the field.

“What he can do with a baseball, the power he can generates with the fastball, the type of of speed pitches, when he's right he has four of them that can get major league hitters out, it's just matter of him going out there and bottling them up and do everything he can to get deep in ball games  he is very motivated, very driven to contribute in big ways for us,” Cash said about Bradley.

The Rays play their first spring training game this Saturday against the Atlanta Braves.
