TAMPA — Spectrum presented a $10,000 grant Tuesday morning to Seniors in Service to support the organization’s digital learning series.

The grant provides 10 laptops for a mobile computer lab that will be used for digital education and support at veteran serving partner sites in Tampa Bay.

Volunteers will use laptops to help vets access VA benefits, health care, affordable housing, SNAP, food pantry locations and online classes/certifications for employment.

Veterans who never learned to use computers will learn digital skills needed for online banking, telehealth, email and more.

Bridging the digital divide will give older veterans a fresh start, self-sufficiency, and hope for a brighter future.

Hillsborough County Commissioner Joshua Wostal, of District 7, attended the presentation along with Robin Ingles, CEO of Seniors in Service.

Spectrum representatives included:

  • Lorelie Johnson, Senior Director, Communications, Spectrum
  • Joe Durkin, Director, Communications, Spectrum
