RIVERVIEW, Fla. — Crews have extinguished the second brush fire that started at Mosaic in Riverview on Tuesday, after it rekindled from Monday night, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue officials said.

Officials said that responders are working on putting out hotspots.

The fire happened at 8813 U.S. Highway 41.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue officials said they were battling the brush fire due to extreme heat from Monday’s event, the magnitude of the fire and the wind conditions.

Crews are working to establish a fire watch, where personnel monitor the conditions at the site, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue officials.

Authorities said that access to the fire was a challenge, which resulted in a second polyethylene pipe becoming involved, adding that crews suppressed the fire on the first pipe as the second started.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue officials made a correction to their previous release, stating that the person transported was a Hillsborough County Fire Rescue firefighter. The individual was not injured, officials said.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue and the Florida Forest Service worked to control the fire and there is no threat to public safety or structures, officials said.
