TAMPA, Fla. — Hillsborough County Schools have begun graduations for seniors at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

Thirty-one graduations will run through May 29 on a 4-per-day schedule.

What You Need To Know

More than 14,000 students are expected to graduate, bringing 140,000 family members and friends to the fairgrounds through next week.

Traffic impacts are expected near the fairgrounds, with Chief Operation Officer Michael Rogalksy saying the main gates on US 301 and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard will see the heaviest traffic.

“Traffic is going to be heavy,” said Rogalsky. “We will have the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office here helping us with the traffic and getting people to flow as best as possible.”

If you are attending a graduation, fairground staff said you should plan to arrive one-hour early, and only using the MLK or US 301 gates.

The Orient Road gate will be reserved for faculty and staff only.

No signs, balloons or noisemakers are allowed inside the auditorium.

Parking will cost $10 per vehicle.

Graduations are scheduled for 8:30 a.m., 12 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. through May 29.
