- Susmita Gudla is in the IB program at King High School, eyes pre-med track in college
- Her curiosity is what keeps her motivated, whether it's doing labs in class or conducting research on health care disparities in underserved communities
You could say not much has changed for Susmita Gudla since we last spoke with her in October. She's still very much involved in her community and school.
Now, though, she is preparing for her next step: College.
"I’m super excited to go to college. I’m a senior in high school, and in college I want to major in public health, biochemistry on a pre-med track," Gudla said.
She is in the IB program at King High School, is taking almost all high-level courses and still found time to help open the Grace Community Medical Center near Ybor City.
"The clinic is a nonprofit clinic, so it’s there for the people in that community," she said. "We offer free health care, free dental check ups and that kind of thing."
She does all of this while maintaining a 7.24 GPA. But she says it's actually not that hard for her.
"I just honestly love everything I do," she said. "I love all the community service things I do — the volunteering, specifically the research, too, I’m so curious about so many things. I always want to know why things happen and the same thing in class."
Her curiosity is what keeps her motivated, whether it's doing labs in class or conducting research on health care disparities in underserved communities.
She says her goal is to help as many people as possible.
