TAMPA, Fla. — Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay is working to stock its hurricane distribution center heading into storm season.

What You Need To Know

“Anything from windows, doors, drywall, even cleaning supplies for those who are going to be in the need,” said Brandy Canada, senior director of operations with Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay.

The nonprofit organization relies on funders and community partners to help repair and revitalize communities across Florida, as it did in response to Hurricane Ian.

“We did over 1,186 houses, returning 3,000 families back to their homes after that disaster,” said Canada.

The organization is preparing to assist those who will need help this storm season and relies on the community and partners to do that work.

“We’re helping those who suffered loss through hurricanes or tornadoes or whatever natural disaster comes our way," Canada said. "We’re here to help them get back on their feet and back into their houses.”

According to Moody’s Analytics, the state gained 194,000 more residents than it lost last year. That kind of growth, along with Florida’s inflation rate, are driving up the cost of some goods and services.
