NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — New Port Richey resident Gloria Vivo is turning a glorious 102 years young this Friday and is celebrating big with family and friends.
Spectrum Bay News 9 caught up with Gloria at a special surprise party celebrating someone who is used to celebrating others.
Gloria told us she is feeling good.
"I'm looking forward to it very much cause I'm in perfect health," she said.
It's a great day for another member of the Greatest Generation who has performed on the greatest stage of all.
Carolyn Zivica is Gloria's daughter and talked about Gloria's days on Broadway.
"My mom has an incredible past journey with being on Broadway singing, acting, dancing and playing the piano her entire life," said Carolyn.
In the late 1940s in New York, then Gloria Casper was a leading lady in Broadway's production of High Button Shoes.
"It was fantastic," said Gloria. "I can't believe I was even chosen to be in a Broadway musical comedy."
Her infectious spirit is what could be her secret to longevity.
Her outlook on life is something we all need these days.
"So, keep a happy and positive attitude," she said. "Don't let anything throw you because everything passes."
That kind of positive spirit never grows old.
Happy Birthday, Gloria.
