  • The foundation’s new program, “Mind Masters,” will help rising middle schoolers learn about mental health

The program marked the third anniversary of Vincent Jackson Day, helping to honor the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers player, who passed away in 2021. He was the co-founder of the foundation, along with his wife, Lindsey.

This new program will help rising middle schoolers learn about mental health resources.

The event had keynote speakers from mental health advocate Nate Evans, Jr. and a distinguished psychologist.

Allison Gorrell, the executive director of the foundation, said this program will help open conversations about mental health.

“Our hope is that we can give students some tools that they can use before they get to the point of realizing depression, anxiety — all those things that kind of set in as you grow older,” she said.

There were also breakout sessions with youth, choosing which interactive therapeutic session they would like to participate in, such as yoga, art therapy, pet therapy and photography.
