District 1 election

Candidates running for District 1:

  • Heather Felton
    • Heather has been a journalist and editor. She has also served as a faith formation director in church ministry and as a greeter and reader at her church. As a Manatee County English teacher, Heather worked for nine years in first middle and then high school. Most recently she taught both remedial language arts and International Baccalaureate literature classes at Southeast High School, from which her children graduated.
  • Alex Garner
    • Alex Garner is a fourth generation Manatee County resident. He graduated from USF with a degree in Business Marketing back in 2011. He currently runs Garner Wealth Management, his financial advising firm. During Covid, he felt the calling to teach.  Besides running his business, he also currently teaches business classes at Palmetto High School.
  • Mark Stanoch
    • Born in Jersey City, New Jersey,  he spent most of his life in the Garden State. He attended parochial schools through high school and graduated St. Peter’s College with a BS degree in Psychology. It is also where he met his wife – Annette.

District 3 election

Candidates running for District 3:

  • Charles Kennedy
    • Manatee County voters elected Kennedy to the school board twice where he served from 2014-2022. During his tenure, his board colleagues selected him to serve twice as chair and twice as vice chair.
  • Jonathan Lynch
    • Jonathan Lynch is a proud native of Bradenton and Manatee County High Alumnus who has spent the last 20 years serving Manatee County. Having 2 daughters in the Manatee County school system and seeing the school board’s response to Covid 19, he has made it his mission to bring a conservative and common-sense approach to the school board.
  • Perri Ann Parkman
    • Perri Ann Parkman is honored to seek a position on the board to be the voice of the people and advocate for our children's future. Her diverse experiences and dedication make Perri a strong candidate to drive positive change in our educational system.
