TAMPA, Fla. — Police say one person was killed and two others were injured early Tuesday after a man allegedly drove a semitruck into a strip club witnesses say he'd just been kicked out of.
According to information from the Tampa Police Department, officers responded at 4:19 a.m. to reports of a truck hitting at least one person in the parking lot of Tampa Emperors Gentlemen's Club, located at 5718 East Adamo Drive.

When they arrived, officers say they found the truck crashed into the front area of the building that leads to the entrance.
Witnesses told investigators that the alleged driver had been kicked out of the club just before the truck crashed into a group of people standing at the entrance.
According to information from TPD, one man was killed in the crash. Two others were injured, but are expected to survive their injuries, police said.
Investigators say the alleged driver, who is currently hospitalized in critical condition, was taken into custody. He is 25 years old.
Police said the man is expected to face charges in connection with the crash.
“Violence is never the answer," said police Major Patrick Messmer. "It doesn’t matter if violence is being conducted with a firearm or using a truck as a weapon."
“This is an unbelievably tragic and completely avoidable incident," said Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw in a press release. "We will work to get justice for the victims and their families. We are thinking of all those impacted including the innocent bystanders who witnessed this horrific ordeal.”
