TAMPA, Fla. — This election year has come with a lot of twists and turns, and getting people out to vote has been top of mind for several election offices.

In Hillsborough County, they’re informing voters about specific dates to keep in mind this year.


What You Need To Know

  •  Sunday, Aug. 18 is the last day to vote early for the Primary Election in Hillsborough County

  •  Tuesday, Aug. 20 is Florida’s Primary Election Day

  •  Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections is asking voters to visit their website to find their nearest voting location

Tuesday, Aug. 20 is Florida’s Primary Election Day, and Sunday Aug. 18 is the last day for you to cast your early vote in Hillsborough County.

The Primary Election season tends to see fewer voters, but the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer says they’re seeing similar numbers to the 2020 election.

“We’re seeing about the same, a third will Vote-by-Mail, a third will vote early,” said Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer.

On Saturday, more than 200 clerks drove to the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office to pick up key election supplies. This is to help them prepare for Election Day and ensure everything runs smoothly.

There are 27 early voting sites throughout the county to vote in this primary and you must bring a form of ID to vote.

All early voting sites in Hillsborough will open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Those with any questions about the process to vote can access the voting guide on the Supervisor of Elections website.

The Supervisor of Elections Offices is also encouraging you to bring your sample ballot and use it as a guide when you cast your vote.

The county will release all Vote-by-Mail and early voting totals on Tuesday.
