HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A 37-year-old man has been arrested in the Riverview shooting Tuesday that injured a teenage girl.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Rasool Hakeem has been arrested and charged with the shooting.
Deputies said the incident, being described as road rage, happened near 4202 S. Falkenburg Rd.
Officials said two parties traveling northbound got into an altercation where one driver fired a weapon at the other vehicle.
One of the bullets struck a 16-year-old female passenger located in the other vehicle. She was taken to Tampa General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being grazed by a bullet.
There were no other injuries.
Hakeem is facing two counts of second-degree attempted murder.
“There is simply no excuse to endanger a life because of a disagreement with another driver,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “There is absolutely no reason for an innocent 16-year-old to be in the hospital because of a road rage incident.”
