ORLANDO, Fla. — The Lake Mary Little League World Champions visited Disney World Thursday to celebrate their victory with a parade at Magic Kingdom in their honor.

The parade started at 1:30 p.m. as the Central Florida community continues a magical week of celebrations.

The Lake Mary All-Stars won the Little League World Series on Sunday, Aug. 25, after rallying to beat Taiwan 2-1.

The team, which represented Florida and Southeast Region, secured the title with a dramatic comeback in the eighth inning, taking advantage of a bunt and a costly error by Taiwan to bring in the winning run.

The team returned home to Central Florida on Monday as champs, the first for any team in Florida.

Previously, teams representing Florida have made eight appearances in the tournament but never won the title.

The city of Lake Mary has also planned a parade to honor the little leaguers on Saturday, Aug. 31.

All of Central Florida is welcome to come cheer on the players and coaches for their World Series championship. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Fourth Street in downtown Lake Mary and is expected to conclude by 1 p.m.
