TAMPA, Fla. — Hurricane relief kits will be distributed Friday to help families in the early stages of recovery from Hurricane’s Helene and Milton.
Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay is hosting the event at the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
What You Need To Know
- Hurricane relief kits available between 12 - 6 p.m. Friday at Children’s Board, 1002 E. Palm Ave. in Ybor City
- Kits will include MRE’s, water and tarps, as well as tools and other hurricane relief supplies
- Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay says recovery from Hurricane’s Helene and Milton will be ongoing for 5-7 years

- Tarps
- Meals Ready to Eat
- Hygiene Kits
- Snack Packs
- Water and much more
Brandy Canada is COO of Rebuilding Together and says these immediate relief kits are only the start of the resources and help that they will provide to families over the next 5-7 years.
“We will tarp roofs. We will muck and gut and then we will go into the longer term repairs,” Canada said. “We will replace roofs. We’ll fix air conducers. We will replace hot water heaters, and the list goes on of all the things that we will do in the community.”
They will distribute the hurricane relief kits on a first come, first serve basis, located at 1002 E. Palm Avenue in Ybor City.
Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay (RTTB) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to repairing homes, revitalizing communities, and rebuilding lives. Since 2000, RTTB has provided critical home repairs and modifications to low-income homeowners, ensuring they live in safe and healthy environments.
