The swing state has been a major focus for candidates, as it could determine the fate of the election.

What You Need To Know

  • There have been around 60 visits from presidential and vice presidential candidates, as well as their surrogates in Wisconsin in 2024

  • Forty of those happened after the Republican National Convention and 26 have happened since the beginning of October

  • Milwaukee and Madison were popular stops for candidates

  • Former President Donald Trump accounted for 10 stops in the Badger State (not including the RNC), while Vice President Kamala Harris made nine since announcing her campaign in July

At least 40 of those visits happened after the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, when efforts to capture voters in the pivotal state ramped up.

The momentum only continued to grow; almost half (26) of Wisconsin's total visits this year have happened since October started.

Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin’s two strongest Democratic strongholds and two of the larger cities in the state, were popular stops. Eleven visits took place in Milwaukee and another eight were centered in Madison.

Former President Donald Trump accounted for 10 stops in the Badger State (not including the RNC), while Vice President Kamala Harris made nine since announcing her campaign in July.

As far as vice presidential candidates, both Republican nominee Sen. JD Vance and Democratic nominee Gov. Tim Walz have made eight separate stops.

The rest of the visits have been from a spouse of the candidate or from a surrogate, such as former President Barack Obama.

Trump won the state in 2016 over Democrat Hillary Clinton by fewer than 23,000 votes and lost to Democrat Joe Biden in 2020 by just under 21,000 votes.
