CLEARWATER, Fla. — Local organization Directions for Living completed another successful holiday gift drive for children in need.

The organization, which provides mental health services to thousands across Tampa Bay, collected and delivered gifts for nearly 500 children ahead of Christmas. It was part of its annual Adopt-a-Family program.

In many cases, the gifts, which were dropped off by caseworkers, were a surprise to the parents and caregivers. They in turn shared in the spirit of giving with their children.

“The way to take care of kids is to take care of their parents,” said Directions for Living CEO April Lott. “I can’t say it enough. By loving their mother this way, they can love their children this way.”

Thousands of gifts were donated to Directions for Living by individuals, groups and business located all around Tampa Bay. To learn how you can donate in the future, visit the organization’s website.
