ORLANDO, Fla. — Millions are preparing to witness a historic day.
On Monday, President-elect Donald Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States.
Fifty people were on their way to Washington, D.C. on Sunday. The group left Orlando at 8:30 a.m, and they’re taking gear like flags, coolers, snacks, extra coats and handwarmers.
Local supporters for Trump held themed flags and flaunting Trump-Vance posters before getting on a bus.
“There are a lot of people that want to see the president inaugurated on the 20th. We’ve been through a lot, over the last four to eight years, we’ve supported him the entire way,” said Joel Rene Davila, grassroots coordinator for the Florida Republican Assembly.
Since the inauguration has moved inside due to cold weather, organizers facilitating the trip say there is no guarantee that they have a seat inside.
But they’re expediting the trip to arrive early enough to stand in the front line.
“I hope I don’t cry, but I’m very proud of my president, he stood through the good times, he stood through the bad times,” said Davila.
One bus from Ft. Lauderdale, to Orlando and then Jacksonville, leading up to Washington, D.C.
Davila says he hopes Trump boosts motivation and finances in the country.
“The president’s job is going to be to unite the country,” he said.
Preparations are taking place now for the ceremony itself. It’ll start on Monday at noon.
Security measures are in place, featuring members of the National Guard and agencies Like NYPD.
After the inauguration ceremony, Trump will hold a modified parade inside Washington D.C.'s Capital One Arena.
The group will be returning on Tuesday.
