But even people whose flights are not impacted say emotionally, they are devastated to learn of this crash between American Airlines Flight 5342 and an Army helicopter.
Two passengers who are heading to the West Coast say it is a little scary to be stepping onto a plane after an accident like this.
“It’s kind of scary for a military aircraft would collide with a commercial aircraft. So, there’s a little bit of tension in the air, especially when you’re flying today, or the day after, or the night after or a few hours. So, it’s a little tough,” said Mark Calibrone.
There are currently at least three cancelled flights out the Orlando International Airport: Delta Airlines, JetBlue and American Airlines. People can view the latest flight updates here.
The board reads of one delayed flights expected to arrive in Orlando from D.C. later Thursday afternoon, but at last check, the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport announced it would be closed until 11 a.m. on Thursday.
