WISCONSIN — As Women’s History Month begins this year, entities across Wisconsin are hosting events to celebrate women’s history all March long.

Here’s a look at some events happening around the state.

Milwaukee area

Red is for Woman — Paint and Sip at Zócalo Food Park
Zócalo Food Park, 636 S. 6th Street, Milwaukee
Saturday, March 8, 6-8 p.m.

A paint and sip at Zócalo Food Park offers a guided painting session to celebrate National Women’s Day. Participants will paint red roses and are encouraged to wear red, symbolizing "power, passion and solidarity with women around the world." Enjoy some tasty food from the park's food trucks while you're there. 

Tickets are required, starting at $35 for painting class. A ticket for a specialized cocktail is also available for $11. All supplies for painting class are included with instruction in English and Spanish.

Women of the Pabst Mansion
Pabst Mansion, 2000 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee
Every Saturday from March 8 - March 29, 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Pabst Mansion will host tours highlighting the women of Pabst Mansion, including women in the Pabst family, female servants, female artists and more.

Tickets are $27 for adults, $25 for seniors, students and military, and $10 for members.

Chamber Music Milwaukee — Women Composers Matter
UW-Milwaukee Music Building, Recital Hall 175, 2400 E. Kenwood Boulevard, Milwaukee

Chamber Music Milwaukee is hosting a music program showcasing women composers. With free admission, spectators can enjoy a diverse musical program performed by UW-Milwaukee faculty and guests in person, or virtually.

Drop-In Tour: Celebrating Women Artists
Milwaukee Art Museum, 700 N. Art Museum Drive, Milwaukee
Saturday, March 15, 2-3 p.m.

Celebrate women artists and their masterpieces at the Milwaukee Art Museum. The tour features works in the museum’s collection by women artists that speak to the experiences of women and girls.

The tour is included with museum admission and is free for museum members. Admission tickets are available at the door and online.

Madison area

Saturday, March 1, Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event starts at 7 p.m. 

Right outside of Madison, LunART Chamber Music Collective presents “In Her Voice,” featuring GRAMMY award-winning soprano Sarah Brailey. The concert will also spotlight women composers eager to tell their stories. 

A meet-and-greet with the artists will follow the performance and refreshments will be served. Tickets start at $30 for general admission, $20 for members and $15 for students.

Success on Her Terms - Women’s History Month Mixer

Thursday, March 6, 5-7:30 p.m.

Success on Her Terms is an event dedicated to making connections in a community of strong-minded women. Enjoy a night of networking, a women’s panel discussion and refreshments from Tricky Foods.

Girl Power Movies Themed Trivia
The Rigby, 119 E. Main Street, Madison
Tuesday, March 18, 7-9 p.m

Hosted by the Rigby Pub, teams can earn bonus points and prizes at a Women’s History Month-inspired trivia night. Teams can earn bonus points and prizes for best team name, best-dressed girl boss character and placing in the top three. This event is free.

Green Bay & Fox Cities area

Women's Work: The Art of Resistance and Persistence
Bellin Building, 130 E. Walnut Street, Green Bay
Saturday, March 8, 3-6 p.m.

This International Women's Day, SAGE, a Brown County nonprofit that works with local artists, is highlighting a collection of RISO prints. The prints, which include zines and posters, highlight issues women are facing today. Artists will also be able to showcase their works in other mediums. Attendees can sip on mocktails, get creative at a Maker's Station and enjoy live music.

Prints will be available for purchase for a donation; profits will support Golden House, which provides resources for domestic abuse victims.

Caffeinated Conversations, Quiet Quitting

Tuesday, March 11, 8:30-9:30 a.m.

Quiet Quitting will focus on strategies to improve employee engagement to avoid the negative consequences of quiet quitting, or employees only doing the bare minimum in their work environment. This event is part of UW-Green Bay’s Caffeinated Conversation series.

Members can register for free, while non-members will need to pay a $10 fee.

Women's Month Fundraiser at Bazil's Pub
Bazil's Pub, 109 W. College Avenue, Appleton
Thursday, March 13, at 6 p.m. 

Bazil's Pub is looking to help those in need this Women's Month. On March 13, $1 from every pint sold will go directly to Harbor House, a nonprofit that supports victims of domestic and sexual violence. The pub will also host a supply drive to help Harbor House secure items they need; donors will earn a raffle ticket and could win brewery swag.
