TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Fire Rescue crews responded to a fire on the roof of an apartment construction site at Midtown Tampa.

The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes and there were no injuries reported.

Fire officials said a call first came in at 6:30 a.m. from construction crews who were working at the building. When firefighters arrived, the building had been evacuated.

Officials had closed Himes and Cypress avenues to traffic during the emergency response. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
