CLEVELAND — Fifty years of comedy, sketches and going live from New York heads to the Cleveland this summer.
Ohioans can see all of Saturday Night Live's musical history close to home as "SNL: Ladies & Gentleman... 50 Years of Music," exhibit opens at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. The exhibit features music from the show, performances and sketches.
The exhibit opens to the public on May 23, 2025.
“’Saturday Night Live’ has brought amazing live music into our living rooms for 50 years, including ground-breaking appearances by over 100 of our Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees," said Greg Harris, president & CEO of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in a news release. "Along with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, we are thrilled to be joining with our friends at ‘SNL’ to share this exciting story with the millions of fans who walk through our doors in Cleveland or online at RockHall.com every year."
Throughout the exhibit, visitors will see video installations, a first ever virtual experience all focused on capturing some of SNL's most memorable musical performances.
Guests will go through the exhibit similar to the show, beginning with the cold open and moving toward home base stage where the hosts announce the musical guests. People will then go through a recreation of the Studio 8H facade in Rockefeller Center and even have a chance to have their own moment center state as the host.
Costumes from fan favorite sketches, such as the Blues Brothers, D--k in a Box, Sweeney Sisters and more, will be featured throughout the exhibit as well.
When coming to the end of the exhibit, through the "Goodnights" section, visitors will then be surrounded by 50 years of SNL musical performances.
SNL50 is the the Rock Hall's first-ever exhibit to feature a digital companion. It will also have both Spanish and English translations.
Visitors can also watch a 20-minute edit of the documentary “Ladies & Gentleman... 50 Years of SNL Music" directed by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson playing hourly.
