The Atlanta Braves have traded Shenendehowa graduate and World Series champion Ian Anderson to the Los Angeles Angels.
The Braves announced Sunday that the 26-year-old right-handed pitcher was swapped for left-handed reliever José Suarez.
A native of Rexford in Saratoga County, Anderson was drafted by Atlanta in the first round of the 2016 MLB Draft. He made his big league debut in 2020.
One year later, he helped lead the Braves to a 2021 World Series title by tossing 5.0 no-hit innings in a Game 3 victory.
Anderson has missed the last two seasons since undergoing Tommy John surgery in April 2023.
