CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers recovered a stolen vehicle and multiple weapons while arresting a juvenile suspect on Thursday, officials said

The department's Juvenile Accountability and Diversion Empowerment (JADE) team received information about a stolen white Dodge Ram truck that had been linked to multiple vehicle break-ins across the Steele Creek and Independence Divisions.

The department worked with Metro, Independence and Steele Creek Divisions, officers located the unoccupied truck on a dead-end street and placed the area under surveillance.

Officers said an underage suspect, who was already wanted by police, along with five other minors, enter a nearby house. After getting a search warrant, officers detained all suspects and found five weapons inside the home – four handguns and a rifle. Two of the weapons were confirmed stolen.

The primary juvenile suspect was arrested without incident and taken to the Stonewall Jackson Juvenile Detention Center. The suspect faces charges of possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
