ORLANDO, Fla. — Operation Green Light is coming up this week, helping people with suspended licenses or overdue tickets.

What You Need To Know

  • Operation Green Light is an initiative ran by Florida's Court Clerks and Comptrollers

  • It is aimed to help drivers with overdue traffic tickets, criminal fines, or suspended drivers licenses

  • Held this week across Central Florida

The statewide initiative is ran by Florida’s Court Clerks and Comptrollers. Staff help thousands of drivers with outstanding criminal fines or traffic tickets.

If a case is in collections, it can get pulled, saving customers money.

“I think this program’s been really successful," said Christopher Clements, Operations Assistant Manager in Orange County Clerk of Courts Traffic/Compliance Division. "We see the numbers every year, we have a high turnout all the time, and we do see a lot of people come in here and they’re able to get on payment plans that’s affordable and they can get their license reinstated and get back out on the road and driving.”

Staff say Operation Green Light is one of their busiest days in the courthouse. In 2024, more than 100 cases were paid off in full, 1,200 cases were put on a payment plan, and 1,300 cases were pulled from collections.

It is scheduled for April 9 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Orange County Courthouse, Suite 410. However, the service is offered year-round.

“Customers do not have to wait one time a year in order to come in for Operation Green Light. We can always work with you and see if you’re eligible to be pulled from collections and get you on a payment plan,” said Clements.

No appointments or reservations are required.

Operation Green Light is also running throughout other counties in Central Florida:

  • Brevard: April 12 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (in person)
  • Flagler: April 7-11 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (in person)
