ORLANDO, Fla. — Multiple students were sent to the hospital during a drinking incident at high school prom event at SeaWorld Orlando.
Emergency officials responded to a call Saturday night during Winter Springs High School’s prom at SeaWorld Orlando. School leaders say they have identified the students involved.
Seminole County school administrators said students hid alcohol in clothing and then drank it during the prom event.
Seminole County Public Schools issued a statement saying that the school district “would not tolerate this type of behavior at any school-related event,” and that students involved will be disciplined by school administration.
Winter Springs High School Principal Peter Gaffney issued a statement to families saying in part:
“This is not how we envisioned this evening, but the safety of all students is our highest priority. I would like to ask for your assistance in speaking with your student about the dangers of this kind of behavior and the possible outcomes beyond the disciplinary actions at the school level.”
