A local attraction is doing something right now that you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere in the world.

1. Wild Florida touts itself as having “the world’s only albino gators hatched at a facility open to the public.”

2. Yeti, a super rare albino gator, is now a few years old, born to albino parents Snowflake and Blizzard. Yeti and his 3 other siblings got international attention, as albinos are extremely rare.

3. In May 2024, the mom laid eggs and several of them are in a backstage incubator. (The incubator happens to be in a building that houses some of the most venomous snakes on the planet). But these eggs are snug and safely locked up in a temperature-controlled incubator.

4. Fun fact: the temperature inside the incubator determines the sex of the gator.

5. Wild Florida “Croc Squad” experts anticipate the hatching to occur in August or September of this year. At least one of the eggs is infertile, but the team is doing all it can to hatch the park’s newest and healthy residents.
