LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles City Council on Tuesday will consider a motion calling for an inspection and enforcement of a recreational vehicle park in Wilmington following public health and other safety complaints.

Council members are set to vote on a motion introduced by Councilman Tim McOsker, who represents the 15th District, which encompasses Wilmington and other Harbor Area neighborhoods. The councilman is calling on the housing, fire and police departments to provide information related to citations, violations, nuisance or other issues at the RV park, known as Oceans 11.

McOsker is also asking for a report back with a list of all report citations or violations from residents at the park and from nearby residents.

According to the councilman's motion introduced on June 28, the Los Angeles Police Department responded to several calls for service from July 2023 to March 2024, ranging from missing children to assaults with deadly weapons.

"There are public health, safety and community welfare issues that are clear and present with Oceans 11, and the impact of this RV park in Wilmington must be taken seriously," McOsker's motion reads. "An evaluation for how the city has responded to calls for services, nuisance abatement issue and — ultimately quality of life issues — is necessary to mitigate any issues at the Ocean's 11 RV park."

The Planning and Land Use Management Committee earlier this month approved the motion in a 3-0 vote with sitting council members John Lee and Heather Hutt absent during the vote.
