The brother of the woman who died with her family in a helicopter crash joined Mayor Eric Adams to pay tribute to the victims Saturday.

Joan Camprubi Montal and Adams took a boat out to the crash site on the Hudson River to lay flowers in the water in their memory.

Camprubi Montal says he takes solace knowing the family of five from Spain were together when they died Thursday and thanked the community for their support.

“They left together, they left without suffering, and they left with a smile on their faces. And that’s important for us, as a family, we want to [remember] and honor their happiness and their smile forever,” he said.

The cause of the helicopter crash is still under investigation.

Camprubi Montal had flown to New York City to identify the bodies. He says he wants to move them back to their home in Spain as soon as possible so they can rest in peace together there.

“What should have been a joyful occasion turned into an unimaginable tragedy. We mourn the loss of Mercè [Camprubi Montal], Augustin [Escobar] and their three children,” Adams said.

Adams said they also dropped flowers for helicopter pilot Seankese “Sean” Johnson, who is also a Navy Seal, and offered condolences to his wife Kathryn.

Adams shared a message he said was on behalf of all New Yorkers to the family members and the wider Spanish community.

“We are here with you. This symbolic gesture is our way of knowing and acknowledging that our words cannot bring back their family members, but it is our way of saying as New Yorkers, we stand united with this family during this moment of grief. Their grief is our grief,” he said.
