Freedom High senior defensive back Nate Godwin has been suspended one game following his ejection from last Friday night's game against Alonso.
FHSAA spokesman Corey Sobers said Godwin was initially handed a three-game suspension, but it was reduced to one. Godwin will have to sit out the Patriots game against Chamberlain Friday night.
Godwin was ejected in the second quarter of Freedom's 35-6 loss to Alonso for an unnecessary rough and flagrant tackle. He is eligible to return for the Patriots Oct. 12 game against Wharton.
