TAMPA, Fla. — They’re world famous — known for their action-packed shows full of incredible shots, snazzy tricks and of course, comedy.

And soon, the Harlem Globetrotters are making a stop in Tampa Bay.

In their 93rd year, the Globetrotters still feature classic moves that have become iconic.

"As always, if you come to a Harlem Globetrotter game, you can expect some high-flying dunks and some world-class tricks,” said Jet Rivers, who is in his fourth-year with the team.

But they also find new ways to keep it fresh.

"This year’s a little bit different. This year, it's all about the fans,” Rivers added.

The Globetrotters are committed to bringing their fans closer than ever to the action. The team’s brand-new fan powered world tour features over 20 opportunities where fans will get a chance to directly interact with the team’s stars – that’s a 30-percent increase over any previous Globetrotters game.

Rivers says fans will have unprecedented access to the stars of the team, and even get an opportunity to learn tricks, shoot hoops and take pictures on the court.

Another difference this year is that the roster features more women than any previous team.

“I think it’s a wonderful thing, especially for young girls to see that,” Rivers said. “They can have in their mind that they can actually do anything that they put their mind to.”

The team’s brand-new fan powered world tour is coming to the Yuengling Center in Tampa on Saturday, December 1 and the RP Funding Center in Lakeland on Tuesday, December 4.
