ORLANDO -- The knock on sequels, they're not as good as the original.
But Armwood vs. Miami Northwestern Part 2 lived up to the first meeting and at some times, surpassed it.
For the second-straight year, Armwood's season ended with a matchup against Northwestern for the Class 6A title. And for the second-straight season, it ended with a loss, this time 22-0 at Camping World Stadium on Saturday.
"We made mistakes," head coach Evan Davis said. "I said earlier in the week, we had four goals and I don't think we capitalized on any of them. We had turnovers, we lost the field position battle."
Just like last year, it was a tale of two defenses, both good. Northwestern's was just a little bit better.
"Hats off to our defensive kids, they played their butts off," Davis said.
"We lost it at halftime, everybody started pointing fingers and that's what lost it," junior safety Jalil Core said.
If defense wins championships, Northwestern's set such a tone in the first half, it led them to their second-straight title.
And it left Armwood waiting for next year... again.
