TAMPA, Fla. – ‘Tampa Bay’s Hometown Team’ is coming to Tampa Bay’s hometown radio station.
USF Football has entered into a three-year deal with WDAE radio (95.3 & 96.7 FM/ 620 AM) of IHeartMedia & Entertainment, Inc.
“We are Tampa Bay’s college team,” said USF Vice President of Athletic Michael Kelly. “To be in an expanded association with IHeart Radio and to be on WDAE and their affiliates is just awesome. It’s an expanded presence for us and a stronger signal (on the airwaves).”
Kelly and USF Football head coach Charlie Strong appeared at the IHeartMedia studios in Tampa to announce this partnership Both took time to be on “The Pat & Aaron Show” on 95.3 WDAE to make the deal official.
One more wrinkle in this deal: WDAE is no longer the home of Florida Gators football.
“To have them no longer be the home of the Gators and now be the home of the Bulls is a really big deal,” said Kelly. “They’re no longer carrying Gator games. It’s now the home of the Bulls.”
IMPORTANT NOTE: USF football games that conflict with Rays Baseball games will be aired on WHNZ 1250 AM. This will include the season kickoff on August 30 against Wiscosnin at Raymond James Stadium.
