SEMINOLE, Fla. -- From day one, Ashley Martin knew that expectations were high for her team.

"The office staff, during the interview process, it was very apparent that they wanted a state showing. So it was a lot of pressure on me coming in and I was just like OK, let’s do it," said Martin.

Making state is a tall task for any team, let alone one with a rookie head coach taking over a program that went just 10-7 the previous season.

"So when I first communicated that goal with the girls and at first, we didn’t have 100 percent buy in. They didn’t believe in themselves, you could tell they were discouraged a bit."

The Warriors may not have been sure about a state appereance but they knew they had a special team.

"My first day coming to practice I was like wow, we’re gonna have a good team," said Sandy Cao who transferred to Osceola from Clearwater. "Just seeing all my new teammates, the experience kind of reminded me of club just with how competitive everybody was."

"I was excited because we had a bunch of freshman, a new coach. I feel like this is gonna be a really good year. It’s like the stars aligned for my senior year," said senior outside hitter Kalli Cors.

But the Warriors haven’t just been good. They’ve been perfect. Osceola finished the regular season unbeaten at 23-0, capping it off with the program’s third ever district title.

"It’s unreal and we’ve only dropped four sets," said Martin. "Seeing them end it with a block and then celebrate with the trophy, it just brought tears to our eyes."

"It’s overwhelming, 23-0, that’s just like a dream," said Cao.

"It’s really cool. It’s cool for our fans, the Tribe. It brings a lot of pride to our school I think," said Cors.

This Warriors team may have made history but they know they’re legacy hasn’t been cemented just yet.

"I think now, they’re just hungry," said Martin. "They don’t wanna stop, they don’t wanna go home. It’s fun to watch them fight!"

"We still have a couple goals to check off our list," said Cors.
