Final seconds of this year’s district semi-final and it’s no surprise the ball is cradled in the stick of Matthew Wyatt as time runs out.

For the 5th time in the last 6 years the Warriors are headed back to the District Championship Game and the Senior Attack is a big reason why.

"I will say the one thing for him that has excelled him to the point of being a skillful player and an intelligent player is his heart", says Warriors head coach Jeremy Kuebrich.

Kuebrich and his brothers have coached Mathew since he took up the sport in 6th grade.

"They’re a huge part of my success, says the Steinbrenner Senior, all four of them just coached me since I was this big and have always supported me with everything".

Matthew was not the biggest player on the field at five foot one and 95 lbs, but that was not going to stop him.

"I loved the game, fun physical, everything about it was for me basically".

By his junior year the Warriors attacker had grown a full foot and was starting to make a name for himself finding the back of the net.

In his second full season at the varsity level Matthew Wyatt is one of the top goal scorers in the country, scoring 66 goals in just 15 games this season.

"I just think about it every game, and get one game at a time and I would like to thank my teammates for all the positions they put me in to score all these goals".

Matthew and the Warriors won District's for the second season in a row with a 12-11 win over Mitchell, who they defeated in the 2019 District Championship game, now they face Plant in the Regional Semis next with a chance to do something no Steinbrenner Lacrosse team has ever done, advance to a Regional Championship game.
