WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — Seth Williamson isn’t just some little kid running around the track. He’s the fastest six year old in the nation.
There’s fast. And then there’s Seth fast.
“He has that approach,”” Seth’s coach BB Roberts said. “When he sets foot on a track, he means business.”
That’s why you’ll see Seth on his phone a lot. Not playing video games, but studying races on YouTube. He studies starts of some of the fastest men in the world, including Tampa Bay’s own Trayvon Bromell.
That preparation helped Seth repeat as a national champion in the 100 meter dash at the AAU Primary Nationals. He held onto the title as fastest kid in the nation.
And it provided one of his favorite things about running.
“You can get many trophies and you can get a lot of medals,” Seth said.
Seth’s collected a lot of hardware at such a young age. But he’s your typical six year old. He likes pizza and drinking juice and playing video games. He wants an electric scooter for his upcoming birthday.
But something magical happens every time Seth sets foot on a track. He finds another gear and takes off.
“He knows he’s going to make it in the future,” Roberts said. “He knows what he wants out of life. He knows he’s going to be successful. And he wants to dominate on and off the track.”
